Our index is built on a robust dataset, covering a wide variety of businesses. This comprehensive analysis provides actionable insights for the e-commerce industry.
June’s figures showcase a few weak spots in the e-commerce sector, with Turnover, Gross Profit, number of Orders and Ad Spend all showing a monthly decline. However, all four still show significant year-over-year (YoY) growth.
Turnover and Gross Profit show double digit growth compared to June last year. Orders increased slightly below that, with an increase of 7.8% YoY.
Ad Spend decreased month-over month (MoM) compared to May, which indicates companies holding back on ad spending. This MoM decrease was more than the MoM decrease for Turnover and Gross Profit, resulting in a MoM increase for Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) and Profit on Ad Spend (POAS). This suggests that the relative decrease in ad spend was enough to reflect positively on companies’ ROAS and POAS.
Consumer spending is heavily fluctuating based on news from America, including the trade war, which feels like it is changing by the minute. On the positive side, inflation is stabilizing across Europe and Denmark, which should indicate steady spending patterns in the coming months.
